"From Space to Sanctuary"
This project explores the emotional power of architecture, focusing on the iconic triangular skylights at The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, in Crystal Palace Park, London, UK..
Initiated in 2020, it’s a personal journey to connect with a space that has become a silent partner in my creative life.
My aim is to visually articulate the interplay between nature, architecture, and human emotion—a choreography of horizons, frames, and reactions that uncover deeper connections.
Each art work title reflects the emotion captured in my impression of the moment.
To me, architecture is more than form; it’s a vessel for memories, desires, and identity—strengthening our sense of belonging.
Throughout history, triangles have symbolised stability, strength, and harmony. In ancient cultures, they represented the divine and the connection between earth and sky; in architecture, they denote structural integrity and balance.
I see the skylights as portals—mediators between inner experience and the external environment—fostering a profound sense of place and belonging.
Whether bathed in moonlight or in the quiet stillness of day, they evoke a sense of connectedness.
I hope this work inspires viewers to reflect on their relationship with spaces that spark exploration, create bonds, and foster grounding.
Ultimately, it’s about finding peace and belonging in the simple things that surround us.
